2NE1 sits down with MTV Style after their first U.S. performance.

Yesterday marked the first U.S. performance of K-Pop girl group 2NE1 (pronounced either "To Anyone" or "Twenty-one"). For anyone who missed MTV Iggy's Best New Bandlivestream or are unfamiliar with the four-member outfit from South Korea--CL, Park Bom, Dara, and Minzy--you can read all about them on this gloriously exhaustive write-up but for the rest of you...ZOMG, YOU GUYS! THE CONCERT WAS SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD.

First of all, the line for the show which began at 4 p.m. ET was out of control by 10 a.m. and since the Best Buy theater in Times Square is, like, a yard-and-a-half away from MTV, every time 2NE1's exuberant fanbase (known as Blackjacks) cheered, our office windows would shake. And, yeah, hi, we're on the 17th floor. So you can imagine the excitement when the ladies (clad in varying iterations of scarlet military uniforms with gold metal armor panels) stormed the stage. There was so much screaming you could feel the reverberations on your ribcage.

Jeremy Scott presented and each number was filled with pyro, animation, synchronized moves and the crowd (who by the way knew all the lyrics to the songs IN KOREAN and danced in perfect unison) went berserk. After the show ended, we were able to sneak backstage to chat with the ladies about their first time in New York, their adidas collaboration with Jeremy Scott ("He's a good friend"), how style relates to their diverse sound ("We never decided to be fashionably edgy. Fashion is a lifestyle so you don’t try [to be edgy] it’s just there), and of course we got good-and-close to their nail situations because these ladies know how to WORK. Psssst Bom, who you'll see in the vid, DOES HER OWN NAILS.

Plus, we grabbed Jeremy for a quick chat, too (okay, so maybe we accosted him, professed our undying love, hugged him violently and pleaded him to). For the record, the man is a national treasure and had the most insightful thing to say about 2NE1, who he calls his muses. #LOVEFEST.

“I think that 2NE1’s style and their music go hand in hand. I think that they’re really speaking to a whole new generation and mixing up all different things... Not only culture and languages and musical genres, but style genres and I think that’s one of the things that’s made them so popular.”

On what it's like to style 2NE1:

“The girls are really easy to work with. When we do things together, from music videos to styling for photo shoots or live performances, they’re really easy because they know what they like. You have to know that Minzy really has to move... Bom has those great legs that she likes to show off, and CL has a very tough style. Dara loves baggy, baggy things even though she’s the littlest thing you’ve ever seen. So there’s certain things that I already know about them and then we just play around and it’s lots of fun.”

It's a way to take care of the important people to me, and make them happy. To me that is music.

When first starting to make the songs and lyrics contained in the album, truthfully they were the release for me, of my complicated thoughts and emotions. I didn't know it would become an album.

The song 'home' was the hardest and eaiest to make.

I didnt have to write down the lyrics, they were the things I was constantly thinking about.

In this song; "You were the very reason I breathe for, but now you’re suffocating me" - it started with these lyrics.

The people I treasure the most give me the biggest scars. Is the reason because I give them bigger scars. Or is it the expectation the people wont be bad, due to this hope do you slowly get hurt more? It came out of these thoughts

Since I dont know how to drive and going out during the early morning I always took taxi's. I thought and wrote lyrics the most as I rode inside a taxi. The feeling as I rode a taxi "looking out the window" and "the words from the radio" - in that moment it felt like everyone's loneliness was in one place. Lots of people are listening to my words but more than my words its is everyone's loneliness

Contrary to this songs mood, the song started from an erratic thought. I was eating and the seat next to me ate and left their grilled fish. I don't know where the thought came from, but I thought "they're just like me"

So the lyrics I wrote that day "life is a fishtank" I this thought it was something especially students and people beoming adults would feel a lot

-from the bottom (밑바닥에서)

It was hardest to write and difficult to record. It is very close to my heart, the story is the first verse is written to haejeong (his wife) second verse writtenis to my daughter. The ending has a voice of a child, it is my daughters.

Her voice was not especially recorded for this song but from when she was a newborn there was a lot of recoding. It was first time she said 'dad' - it took this out and put it in the song

Even before I thought of working together with YG, I asked for us( taeyang & tablo) to work together on a song.

Even thought it was my song taeyang worked hard as if it was his own. Since I have been doing music for a long time, the thought "this is enough" have come many times.

The reason why I made the title of the album "Fever Flower" (aka Fever's end) is not because I want to portray the red marks you get when you get a fever or ill, but the hour that it is the most painful but simultaneously that person fever and fatigue is almost finished. So whilst i was listening, after i had listened to all 10 tracks rather than sympathise the lyrics that were painful, gentle, sad I want people to feel the the importance in small strength, in happiness.

As i made this album, the result of making this album was that I smiled again. I hope people smile, would like if people feel hapiness from listening to this album

and when i saw the picture below, i cant help but be attracted! I an avid fan of vampire stories. But i am very choosy about them, one thing for sure, I do not like twilight and it's series at all.

So that does not qualify for a vampire story in my opinion. I like rather classic ones though.

However, this musical is not about vampire, it is about the story on Elisabeth and how Death got to her and fell in love. I cant wait to see Junsu's musical! hope there will be fancams! February 2012!

The death of Simoncelli on the 23 October was a devastating blow to my family and I.

The fact that we have been supporting this sport since i was young and even way back, i have to say this is the 3rd worst death after Dajiro Kato and Shoya Tomizawa (coincidentally, just a few days ago, i blogged about him).

Unexpected death from such a young 'crazy' rider whom has gotten into many troubles for it.

It was just a few months back that he got into trouble with riders for crashing with them on track.

Barbera, Stoner, Hayden, Pedrosa where he was down with a broken collarbone etc etc etc.

The two riders were involved in a forthright exchange of opinions in the post-qualifying press conference at Estoril on Saturday.
Jorge Lorenzo and Marco Simoncelli will line up alongside one another on the starting grid for the bwin Grande Prémio de Portugal on Sunday after taking the top two positions in Saturday’s qualifying session at Estoril, and following the hour-long session the pair were involved in a heated debate during the post-QP press conference.
The disagreement stemmed from comments made by Lorenzo about Simoncelli’s riding style, and with the media fanning the flames the duo were drawn into an open discussion which can be viewed in the attached video. Below is a transcription of what was said between the two…
Marco Simoncelli: “Yes, I read something he said about my riding style but I don’t know, for me he said some wrong things because he said that last year in Valencia I touched him and he almost crashed, but it was not true because I was in front and he tried to pass me and made a mistake. He touched me and his tyre was on my leathers, from the leg to the shoulder, so for me it’s not a correct example. Another thing is that some years ago he was disqualified by Race Direction for his aggressive riding style, so for me he said a wrong thing.”
Jorge Lorenzo: “For my part I think that yesterday I said the right words. For me it’s not a problem if it doesn’t happen, we’ll see what happens in the future.”
MS: “Yes, but you gave a wrong example, for me, from Valencia.”
JL: “I think you have touched with a lot of riders, no?”
MS: “Yes, but your example was wrong, for me.”
JL: “How many races have I not crashed in? I didn’t touch anybody.”
MS: “I said that your example was wrong, sorry!”
JL: “This is your opinion! But I think a lot of people here in the paddock, a lot of riders, have the same opinion as me.”
MS: “Try to ask.”
JL: “Ask (Andrea) Dovizioso, for example. Ask (Hiroshi) Aoyama, for example.”
MS: “Ask Dovizioso in 2005!!”
JL: “It doesn’t matter. If nothing happens in the future, it’s not a problem for me. But if something happens with you in the future, it will be a problem.”
MS: “Okay. I will be arrested!”
JL: “This question, everybody is laughing, but it’s not funny because we are playing with our lives. We are riding at 300km/h and we are on bikes which are very powerful and very heavy. It’s not minibikes. It’s a dangerous sport and you have to think about what you are doing. It’s okay, I am ready to fight with all the riders, but I don’t like to fight not clean. It’s the way. I injured myself a lot of times, I made (Alex) De Angelis crash in Japan which was my fault, my mistake, so from that moment I’ve always tried to ride clean. I can make a mistake because I am human but normally when I am riding I think twice about things. I am not impulsive because it’s one thing to play with your health, and another thing to play with the other riders’ health.”

He looked back, but there wasn't much he could do. Colin Edwards fell with a broken collarbone.

Shuhei Nakamoto, HRC Executive Vice President, says "I just don't know what to say; words escape me. Marco was a very nice guy and a very talented rider. Sometimes I was a little harsh with him, for example after his first MotoGP podium in Brno when I told him, 'Lucky podium!' and he was so angry, but I wanted to motivate him as I knew he was able to do even more. I was thinking that when he won his first race we would have been able to celebrate together. Now I just want to say thank you to Marco, for what you gave me, and pass my sincere condolences to his family at this very sad time."
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa says, "In a tragedy like this there is not much to say. I just want to give my condolences to his family and all the people who love him. I've been with his father and all we could do was to hug, nothing else matters. It was a fatal accident and everybody in the paddock remains in shock. Many times we ourselves forget how dangerous this sport can be and when you lose people on the way nothing has any meaning. It's clear that we all do what we like, what we love, but on days like today nothing matters."
Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso says, "In these circumstances, words don't seem to be appropriate. I think of Marco's family and all the people dear to him, in particular his father and mother. I also have a child and what happened today is the hardest situation you can imagine. I watched the images and I'm shocked. In a race you fight and push hard and disaster is often around the corner. Marco was a strong rider and he always pushed hard. We raced together since we were kids. I saw him always pushing to the maximum, he crashed many times, but without major injuries, he was seemed invincible. What happened today seems impossible."
Repsol Honda rider Casey Stoner says, "I'm so shocked and saddened by the loss of Marco. When things like this happen it reminds you how precious life is, it makes me feel sick inside. All I can say is how sorry I am for Marco's whole family I can't imagine what they are all going through and our thoughts and wishes are with them at this time. I hope they all stay close and pull through this tragedy together."

Came across Steve Madden SALE! I have been eyeing it since I came across it through @allretrovintage

I started loving that shoes and never thought I would come across the sale from the 2010 Collection! HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

and guess which I got?! the MAGIMAY in WHITE!!!! though i wanted to get the ELLY in Black, NO SIZE

It is seriously so upsetting~ Sigh.

Alternatively I got a cheaper brown leather flats instead. I was thinking of putting chain around it, but I am so lazy to even think~

Went shopping with mom at NewLook last month before Hari Raya..

Tried this gorgeous 3 pairs! Love all! but sadly I could only get one..

1) I got myself this $69.90 Platform Loafers, super comfortable and I love it to death!

2) $79.90 Lace Up Brogue Heels that hurts my poor toes due to the small front cutting, but it was the heels that I have been looking for! When I found it, I can't wear it! It has been a year since I wanted to get that kind of heels.

3) $73.90 Brogue Shoeboot that looks so similar and much more comfortable than the the second heels.
